UTC RETAIL, a leading provider of retail management solutions including software, hardware and professional services, announced today the launch of the latest version of their successful 1800 Series POS Solution. The new 1870 POS Touch Workstation incorporates Intel Mobile technology to increase the performance and energy efficiency of the all-in-one touch workstation.
The new 1870 is enhanced with an Intel Celeron® M 1.5GHz and Pentium M 1.8GHz processor option, increased Front Side Bus speed (400 MHz), standard system memory of 512 MB RAM (upgradable to 2GB), and standard 80GB hard disk drive (160GB or dual hard disk drive optional). The energy efficient Mobile architecture also enabled a redesigned cooling system resulting in improved reliability and reduced fan noise. An integrated Intel GML Express chipset produces crisper display graphics and improved audio output from the optional speakers.
The 1870 with integrated 15" Touchscreen LCD display also supports a host of options and peripherals including internal DVD/CD drives, 3-track Magnetic Strip Reader, customer display, keyboards, scanners, printers, and cash drawers. An optional Wireless LAN card provides 802.11b/g WiFi connectivity with WPA security encryption. The 1870 will be supported by UTC RETAIL's comprehensive suite of support services including staging & integration, installation, and depot, hot swap or on site maintenance.
"UTC RETAIL is excited to introduce the new high performance, energy efficient 1870," stated Chris Fletcher, Product Manager. "The new 1870 is built on the ultra-reliable, retail hardened 1800 Series platform, and delivers improved performance to support increasingly complex POS application software such as real time inventory information, CRM/loyalty, employee time clock, loss prevention and training. Many of our customers have also found the 1800 Series all-in-one touch screen platform to be a great choice for self-service kiosks."
