Vestcom International is testing ShelfCast, a shelf edge video network. ShelfCast is designed to increase sales at the point of decision by displaying SKU-specific messages. The system will feature small screen monitors that run 10 to 30-second video and audio messages, along with the item's price. Videos can include advertorial or educational pieces, such as how-to tips, recipes and wine pairings. ShelfCast will be available to retailers later this year.
