Vitamin Shoppe Improves Inventory Visibility Throughout Its Supply Chain

The Vitamin Shoppe, a leading omni-channel specialty retailer of nutritional products, is investing in its supply chain to ensure customers can easily find the products they need, when they need them.

“Improving visibility of our inventory throughout the supply chain is a key element to enhancing our omnichannel fulfillment,” says Camille Fratanduono, vice president/GM merchandising operations, The Vitamin Shoppe. “In today’s retail landscape, being laser-focused on servicing our customers’ health and wellness needs is priority number one.”

With more than 13,000 products provided by more than 700 suppliers, The Vitamin Shoppe’s inventory requirements are quite complex. Through a partnership with Relex, the company is adopting an integrated supply chain strategy, improving the accuracy of demand forecasts, and using those forecasts to optimize store and distribution center replenishment and allocations. Relex will also provide promotion optimization to keep availability high while reducing the burden of excess stock.
