Which Retailers Are Open, and Which Are Closed on Thanksgiving?

A number of retailers are opting to close their doors on Thanksgiving for both economic and communal reasons. The trend a few years ago was to extend the Black Friday experience into the Thanksgiving holiday, but backlash from both associates and shoppers alike has caused many retailers to rethink the strategy.

While many will be closed, a large number of the big players like Macy's, Best Buy and Walmart, will remain open. Below is an abbreviated look at the big names that will be open, and which will be closed on Thanksgiving Day.
