Xsilva Showcasing Mac-Based LightSpeed at Retail's BIG Show

2/4/2010
Xsilva Systems Inc. is presenting LightSpeed, its Mac-based point-of-sale (POS) system at the NRF show which begins today.

As Mac gains record market share with consumers flocking to the iPhone and other Mac products, the retail sector is gaining interest in the Mac's unique strengths. Some businesses are looking for solutions to integrate with the Macs retail technology platform, which Xsilva says is "perfectly matched to a new generation of savvy retailers looking to achieve an Apple-centric business environment for their stores."

LightSpeed combines a powerful POS for front-counter retail with back-office functions such as inventory management, purchasing, order processing and reporting. A key focus for Xsilva at the show was LightSpeed 3.0, its new release that features a new POS user interface, new features for multi-store retailers, and expanded support for the latest version of Xsilva's e-commerce solution, Web Store.

Web Store is an add-on to LightSpeed that provides retailers with an e-commerce site that engages online shoppers with customizable templates. Visitors to a LightSpeed Web Store, reports Xsilva, are greeted by rich product visuals and a clean design that delivers an elegant and stylish look and feel inspired by Apple's online store.
