Best Buy Canada Converts Showroomers into Buyers

Best Buy Canada has equipped its store associates with real-time competitive pricing to help drive conversions and revenues. 360pi, a price and product intelligence platform, launched 360mobile, a solution that puts current competitors' prices in the hands of in-store sales associates. Retailers such as Best Buy Canada are using the solution to empower associates with the price intelligence to better anticipate and respond to customer queries for discounts and price matches, helping to drive in-store conversions, increase revenues and improve overall customer experience and loyalty.
360mobile was developed in cooperation with Best Buy Canada with the intent to improve the overall customer experience and build trust and loyalty in the brand promise that will translate into return visits and purchases. The solution is available on Android and iOS devices and integrates near real-time competitive pricing information into the retailer's existing processes and systems.
"The entire buying process has changed – from where customer do their research to where they're influenced to where, when and how they ultimately buy," said Sean Wilson vice president of merchandising operations for Best Buy Canada. "360mobile gives our retail associates the information they need to better address customer questions and concerns, and lets prospective customers make an informed decision while in the store, effectively turning showroomers into buyers."
The retailer has seen several benefits of the 360mobile platform, including:
  • Improved confidence of sales associates when dealing with customers
  • Improved and quicker response by sales associates to price matching requests
  • A more positive and informative experience for customers and greater trust in associates
  • A decrease in mistakes with price matching now that associates have mobile access to competitor's prices and product availability in real-time.
