Closely following economic and consumer behavior leading indicators help retailers discover opportunities for increased sales, marketing ROI and profitability. At RCAS 2018 industry experts will discuss how to best utilize this data to bolster the bottom line.

The opening day “Data-Driven Growth Strategies” workshop featuring Shane O’Flaherty, senior executive, retail, CPG and hospitality, Microsoft; Rich Wagner, CEO and president, Prevedere; and Pawan Murthy, head of marketing, Prevedere will explore new opportunities retailers can capitalize on by enhancing existing analytic processes with external economic and consumer behavior leading indicators. With a holistic view of future demand by category and region ― 12 to 24 months into the future ― CPG and retail leaders can make bold decisions today with these data-driven insights.

In this interactive workshop, the evolution of business intelligence will be explored and case studies examined. The aim is to show what is possible when global data meets cognitive computing that can mimic the mind of an economist with the processing power of millions of CPUs. The workshop will also provide a glimpse of the future of several major categories, showing the true drivers of demand.

O’Flaherty is focused on leading the retail, airline and hotel industry in driving innovation that will enhance the customer and employee journey, while driving increased productivity and cost compression with the use of Microsoft’s technology and its eco-system of hospitality solution partners. Prior to joining Microsoft, Shane held many senior executive positions including CEO & President at Forbes Travel Guide. He was also director of business and leisure marketing for Preferred Hotels & Resorts Worldwide. In that capacity, he orchestrated marketing programs for their luxury hotels worldwide and also directed Preferred’s hotel quality assurance program.

Pawan has over 14 years of experience in marketing strategy, product development, creative direction and launching companies and business units. Prior to Prevedere, Pawan was general manager of online business for BMW Financial Services, responsible for seeking and implementing the latest digital strategies to improve customer communication and loyalty. He is a published author and professional speaker.

Wagner brings 15 years leadership from Big 4 consulting and Fortune 500. He worked with C-level executives on major corporate initiatives including preparing due diligence on dozens of multi-billion dollar mergers, acquisitions and corporate projects. He has experience in a variety of industries including manufacturing, consumer goods and retail.

The 2018 Retail and Consumer Goods Analytics Summit will be held April 25-27 at The Drake Hotel, Chicago, Illinois. The conference will feature keynotes from retail and consumer goods leaders, peer-to-peer exchanges, networking opportunities, relationship building, and a start-up competition.
