First Buyable Pins to Come From Nordstrom, Macy's, Neiman Marcus

Pinterest says the wait is over for buyable Pins -- the simple, secure way for users to buy their favorite products on Pinterest. Buyable Pins were announced earlier this month, but in the coming weeks, users in the U.S. will have access to 30 million products available for purchase from great brands such as Macy's, Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom, retailers powered by Demandware including Gardener's Supply Company and Michaels, and thousands of Shopify stores such as Poler Outdoor Stuff and SOBU.

Buyable Pins will be available in users' home feeds, on boards they love and in search results. When a user sees a Pin with a blue "Buy It" button, that means it's a product availablefor purchase. When the Pinner is ready to check out, they simply click the Buy It button and pay with either Apple Pay or a credit card. If the user isn't ready to purchase, she can save the Pin for later and come back to it when she's ready.

As part of the announcement, Pinterest is also launching new shop categories including "shop our picks," a curated selection of seasonal goods, and "Shop" for the latest buyable Pins.

Buyable Pins are available on iPhone and iPad in the U.S. only. Over time, Pinterest will make buyable Pins available to Android and desktop users in the U.S. as well as international users.

Buyable Pins are another way that Pinterest is helping people bring Pins to life. Pinterest also offers App Pins, recipe pins, article pins and place pins.
