A New Enterprise for George Zimmer, Ousted Men's Wearhouse Founder

Ousted Men's Wearhouse founder and chairman George Zimmer announced unexpectedly at Salesforce.com's Dreamforce conference in San Francisco that he will be launching a "high-tech, high-touch" company in the near future.

Other than saying this venture will treat both customers and shareholders well, Zimmer did not otherwise elaborate on the nature of his new enterprise but revealed that he will leverage Twitter to share further details at the appropriate time.

For much of 2014 Men's Wearhouse was embroiled in a highly public and protracted battle to acquire Jos. A. Banks, eventually succeeding with a $1.8 billion takeover deal. Zimmer was forced out by the Men's Wearhouse board of directors in mid-2014.
