Overstock Named Best Retail Mobile Application

Overstock took home its seventh consecutive MobileWebAward thanks to its innovative use of augmented reality.

Overstock.com has been named the winner of its seventh consecutive MobileWebAward win for Best Retail Mobile Application. The Web Marketing Association recognized the retailer’s mobile application for its innovative content, including its augmented reality (AR) feature on both iOS and Android.

Key features of Overstock’s award-winning app include its augmented reality experience featuring thousands of high-quality, true-to-life size 3D models, personalized product recommendations and lists, and other functions such as search, order management, and simple checkout. Each feature was designed with the customer in mind to make the shopping experience more seamless and convenient.

 “Our goal is to offer customers the full assortment and convenience of shopping on Overstock.com at the touch of their fingertips anytime they are in the mood to shop,” said Sumit Goyal, Overstock’s chief digital officer. “Introducing new and innovative features to our mobile apps has allowed us to lead development within the retail industry. The Web Marketing Association holds the annual MobileWebAward Competition to recognize the achievement behind the creation of today’s top mobile applications, mobile websites, and responsive websites. Judging for the award focuses on exceptional achievement in mobile development while recognizing innovation and growth within mobile applications.
