Following a few weeks of delayed deliveries Rent the Runway informed subscribers last week that due to a problem with a fulfillment software implementation they can expect slower than usual deliver times until October 15. In addition, the apparel subscription rental company will not be accepting new members or event rental orders until the software hiccup is resolved.
In a letter to subscribers on September 27 Rent the Runway CEO Jenn Hyman said that the delays began on September 13 due to “unforeseen issues associates with a significant software transformation that we are executing in our fulfillment operation.”
The CEO reported that RTT’s technical team is hard at work fixing the issue and should have it resolved by October 15.
“We will not be accepting new subscribers or new event rental orders to be delivered before October 15,” Hyman said in her letter to subscribers. “We will continue to work tirelessly to service all your orders during this period of disruption. You will be able to place orders during this period, but we advise that you order items a few days in advance of your normal schedule.”
