Toys R Us Extends Omni-Channel Efforts with Buy Online, Pay In Store Option

Toys "R" Us has launched Pay In Store, a payment option for orders placed through and, allowing customers to shop online and pay for orders in any of the 873 stores nationwide. Any payment methods, including cash, check, credit cards or gift cards are accepted at all registers. Pay In Store is an extension of the retailer's omni-channel efforts, which include buy online pick up in store, ship to store and ship from store.
"Many moms, dads and gift-givers have asked for alternative payment methods when shopping on and, and we are very pleased to introduce this brand-new payment option for our customers just in time for the busy holiday season," said Milton Pappas, vice president of e-commerce customer service for Toys "R" Us in a statement. "Pay In Store is yet another way we are integrating our store and online businesses, creating a seamless shopping experience for our customers."
Pay In Store serves as an alternative payment option for customers who do not have a credit card or do not want to use a credit card online. When shopping on either website, customers can select the Pay In Store option displayed as one of the Payment Method choices at checkout. The order is then reserved, and customers can visit a local "R" Us store to pay within 48 hours of receiving a confirmation e-mail. When paying in-store, the customer presents a copy of the order confirmation e-mail or displays the e-mail on their smartphone at any register to make the full payment. Once payment is made, the order will be processed and shipped to the customer's home.
